2/187 WICKHAM ST PAUL SUDBURY ROAD TL 83 NW 2/187 Catley Cross GV II and the entry shall be amend to read:- TL 83 NW WICKHAM ST PAUL SUDBURY ROAD 2/187 Catley Cross House _II* House. Last quarter of C16. Timber-framed with red brick infill, plastered over. Plaintiled roof with 2 plastered brick chimneystacks, main range stack with attached shafts. One and a half storey in-line hall/service end with 2 storey cross wing to left. Square leaded casements with some C17 7 iron leaded windows. Tiled gabled porch on brackets to right with vertically boarded door. Good quality oak frame with jowled storey posts and straight internal trenched bracing, face halved and bladed scars to wall plates. Evidence for diamond mullioned window in side wall of crosswing and one surviving in ground floor rear wall. Inglenook hall fireplace original in build. Chamfered floor joists housed with soffit tenons with diminished haunches into moulded axial bridging joist. The undershot cross passage retains original openings to hall, service room and stairs which are original solid treads on bearers. External door openings still in original position. Stud partition between service rooms still remains with some wattle and daub removed to provide openings at high level. Room above hall accessed from crosswing with the doorway framed into the roof structure. No external openings evident except for dormer windows which could be original. Roof is paired rafter with clasped side purlins and wind braces. Listed Grade II* because of its survival in an extremely complete state with many rare features.

Red plain tiled roofs. 2 plastered brick chimney stacks, main range stack with attached shafts. 2 storey crosswing, single storey and attic main range. 1: 1: window range of square leaded casements. Crosswing ground floor with double small paned long windows, boarded below and canopy over. Left return parget plastered and with some C17 iron leaded windows. Gabled tiled porch on brackets to right. Vertically boarded door. Reputed to contain original solid tread stairs. RCHM 5
