TL 6221 GREAT DUNMOW HIGH STREET (E side) 8/48 Rumseys 43, 45, 47 20.2.67 GV II

Shop former house, C16 or earlier, 2 storeys and timber framed and plastered. Hall house format with 2 gabled, peg tile roofed crosswings and raised hall section with ridge line hipping down to crosswings. Crosswings each have C19 decorative bargeboards, applied 'timber framing' and a single double hung sash with glazing bars to each first floor. The hall upper floor has a pair of similar double hung sashes of C19. Ground floor has 3 shopfronts, oriel projecting C20 windows with hipped pegs tile roofs and small panes to each crosswing and wide small paned bowed shopfront to the centre. Interior shows remnants of old timber frame. Included primarily for group value.
