SO 61 SE NEWNHAM A48 (off west side), RUDDLE 1/11 The Haie -

Mansion house. c.1840 and 1883. Thin sandstone slab facings on rubble, dres- sed ashlar pilasters, slate roofs. A large rambling house, the principal block facing east, towards the Severn, appears to be c.1840, but a large porte- cochere and staircase hall added in 1883 on the north front. Multiple stacks set diagonally. River front 3 storeys, 7-windowed, grouped 2+3+2 in three decorative 'Flemish' gables; one round headed light to each gable, flanked by small quatrefoil openings (blank in central gable); at first floor low 4- centred heads under stopped drips; at ground floor three lofty segmental-headed under stopped drips, and canted bay to each of flanking gables. Sashes with glazing bars to first and second floors, ground floor sashes without bars. Similar detail to return wing, left; two gabled, 2+2-windowed. Panelled main door in porte-cochere. This property formerly known as Newnham Park.
