Details

1. GREAT WALTHAM CHELMSFORD ROAD 5213 GREAT WALTHAM South Lodge to Langleys park, TL 6913 23/189 29.12.52.

2. An interesting miniature building of the early C18. It was built at the same time as the house, circa 1719. It is a red brick building of I storey with stucco orner pilasters and a parapet on 3 sides, the front breaks forward slightly with a dentilled pediment and cornice. A central 6-panel door has a doorcase with Ionic fluted pilasters and a cornice. The windows flanking the doorway have cornices, shouldered architraves and panelled aprons, double-hung sashes with glazing bars. There are similar windows in the north and south sides. Roof tiled, hipped on the north and south ends. '
