ROMALDKIRK B6277 NY 9922 (West side) 29/141 Ivyholme Cottage, Ivyholme Stores (including Post Office) and Fell Cottage II 3 houses, 2 builds, early C19 with alterations. Squared sandstone rubble; stone-flagged roof; stone chimney stacks. L-plan group.
2-storey, 5-bay front (2-bay Ivyholme Cottage to left of straight joint; 3-bay Ivyholme Stores to right); 3-bay right return (Fell Cottage). Flush quoins at ends and junction.
Ivyholme Cottage: 2 replaced glazed doors (right door in C20 glazed porch) and two 4-pane sashes with glazing bars removed; identical sash above with replaced casement to left. Ivyholme Stores: central replaced door and overlight with C20 shop window to left and replaced 4-pane sash to right; 3 identical sashes above have lintels with slightly-segmental undersides. Paired stone gutter brackets. Hipped roof with 2 corniced ridge stacks.
Right return: (ground-floor left bay pertains to Ivyholme Stores); partly-glazed 4-panel door, in C20 glazed porch, flanked by replaced 4-pane sashes; 3 identical sashes above have lintels with slightly-segmental undersides. Roof, hipped to left, has coped right gable with shaped kneeler. Corniced ridge and right end stacks.
Set-back wing, to right of Fell Cottage, is not of special interest.
