Details

GOUDHURST CRANBROOK ROAD TQ 7237-7337 (north side) 15/150 Lime Trees Farmhouse II House. C15, refronted mid C19. Timber-framed and tile hung and weatherboarded on red brick ground floor, refronted with red brick with stone details. Hall house, probably Wealden, in origin. Front elevation (C19): 2 storeys on plinth with quoins, plat band and hipped roof with 2 projecting gables with moulded barge- boards and stacks at end left, end right and rear centre left and right. Regular fenestration of 2, four light mullioned and transomed leaded wooden casements on each floor, with central cross-window on 1st floor, all in raised quoined surrounds and central arched boarded door with strap hinges, fanlight spandrels and drip-moulded surround. Rear wing with jetties at end left and end right steeply pitched hipped roof with gablets and off-centre stack, and lean-to outshut across half of rear wall. Irregular wooden casements.
