GOUDHURST ROGERS ROUGH ROAD TQ 73 NW (north side) 5/267 2 Summerhill Cottage and Blackley Cottage II House, now house pair. C16 or earlier, clad C18. Timber framed and clad with red brick and tile hung on 1st floor, with tile hanging and weather boarding to return elevations. Plain tiled roof. Probable hall house with cross wing in origin. Two storeys with 2 storey and basement cross wing, with roof half- hipped with gablets, with projecting half-hipped cross-wing to right, with stacks to centre left and to rear right. Three 3 light and one 2 light wooden casement to right on each floor, with boarded doors to left and to right, both with hipped hoods. Weather boarded outshot to left. Right return with glazing bar sash and basement casement. The cross-wing is built on a basement of worked sandstone blocks.
