Details
BOTLEY ROAD 1. 5231 (South West Side) Swanwick No 149 (Rookery Farmhouse) SU 5109 16/283 18.10.55. II GV 2. Timber framed house, mostly refronted with grey headers. Red brick window dressings, quoins, stringcourse and diaper motifs. lst floor of eastern window bay, which is probably a later addition, of red brick. In the centre is a half hipped gable with the framing exposed and red brick infilling. This part has stone plinth. Old tiled roof. 2 storeys. 5 windows, generally late C18/early C19 casements - many replacements in similar style. The eastern window bay has sashes with moulded exposed frames and glazing bars. C19 gabled timber porch and bay on ground floor to west of this. No 152 (Yew Tree Farmhouse) forms a group with No 151, and with No 149 (Rookery Farmhouse) and its Granary and Barn, the latter being a building of local interest.
