2. Dated 1788. Mylne architect. Rebuilt and widened in 1931, under W Taylor, County Surveyor, exactly on Mylne's design. (Robt Mylne - the most famous of a family of bridge designers). A graceful single segmental arch, with slightly projecting abutments on each bank, with a plain circular panel in each abutment. Plain raised string with small bedmould at road level. Plain solid parapet and coping, the latter moulded on outer face, each side of bridge. The parapet curved outwards for some distance at each end. The bridge replaces an older construction, and is in character with the architecture of Broadlands of which there is a good view from the bridge itself.

Middle Bridge, Nos 1 to 7 (odd) Mainstone with Nos 177 & 179 Middlebridge street form a group.
