17/75 Stable c5m west of Lake House (formerly listed as barn c10 metre west of Lake Farm) 8.3.84
GV II
Stable (under 2 ownerships). Early-mid C18. Square-panelled timber framing on plinth of coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone walling continued up to eaves level at left gable end. Timber-framing at the opposite end now weatherboarded. Formerly 'L'-shaped plan now rectangular. No openings in wall facing onto street. Early plank pitching door in left gable end containing pigeon holes. Doorway was formerly reached by wooden steps only 2 of which now remain. C20 double doors in side facing away from Lake Street. Stable door to left. Two 2-light casements one with .leaded panes one with horizontal glazing bars. Roof half-hipped at left gable end. Interior; at least two queen post roof trusses with raking struts either side and single vertical post from collar beam to apex. Roof trusses in poor condition at time of resurvey (April 1986).
