base in the churchyard of the Church
of St Giles, c5m south west of the
porch
GV II
Stump of cross shaft and cross shaft base. Possibly Saxon. Square
C20 concrete base. The base of the cross is carved out of a single
large block of tufa and is square at the bottom, the upper surface
is cut away to form two concentric circles. Square cross shaft
which becomes octagonal as it rises up to a height of c0.7m.
