SP 02 28 WINCHCOMBE VINEYARD STREET (east side) 4/209 Almsbury Farmhouse - - II

Farmhouse. C18 with substantial C19 modifications. Cut and squared limestone, stone slate roof to coped gable and stack with capping at west end, verge gable stack at south end, and large eaves stack centrally to north wall. An L-plan with central entry on main wing, south facade, a second entrance on east, and cellar. South front 2-windowed: C19 2-light casements with glazing bars in gabled dormers over two 3-light casements under continous wood lintel at first floor and one similar at ground floor, plank door centrally; on return wall to wing, sash with glazing bars over 2-light casement. West gable, to road, two good C18 sashes with glazing bars in plat-band surrounds, and on long north wall various windows including two C18 2-light casements with leading under wood lintel, two C18 sashes with bars and one narrow C19 sash with bars; near west gable, pair of old plank doors to cellar, under wood lintels. East facade includes central door, and sashes, but ground floor, right is 3-light casement with rebated wood mullions. Interior only part viewed, but appears to be much modified, some C18 window shutters. Floor level stepped up over cellar.
