II
Detached house. Early-mid C18; enlarged and re-fronted c1800. Smooth incised stucco front, random rubble limestone to rear; ashlar and rendered chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic; lower 2-storey ranges to rear. Front: 3 giant Tuscan pilasters resulting in duality., Two-window fenestration, later Cl9 four-pane sashes to ground floor, 16-pane above, all with plain architraves, cornices and scalloped sun blind valencing. Moulded cornice with ashlar blocking course. Lower part to right with single window fenestration treated as to main part. Gable end chimneys. Large staircase addition on west side has front doorway with C19 panelled door and lean-to porch, glazed part above with low-pitched gable. Glazing runs up both side of staircase. This formerly led to ballroom wing at rear, now demolished. Rear: 2 lower gables of earlier C18 house, mixed casement fenestration. Off-centre gabled projection to rear of main block.
