16/233 Blue Boys Farmhouse and barn
II
House with attached barn. Mid C17; early C19 barn and other alterations. Random rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey; barn attached at east end. North front: mixed fenestration, roughly central 2-storey canted bay window addition with mullioned casements and hipped roof. Various 2-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, 2 to left below 2 upper floor sash windows, one now blocked, other with 12-pane sash. Moulded round arched doorway to right with keystone, imposts and early plank door. Two cut-down ridge-mounted chimneys. Barn projects forward to left with west-facing plank barn doors and timber lintel. Unglazed loft-level cross window to end gable. Single- storey outbuilding attached to south west corner. Interior not inspected. Recorded as Blue Boy's Inn from 1718. Became farmhouse in C19. (N.M. Herbert, 'Minchinhampton' in V.C.H. Glos. xi, 1976, pp 184- 207; and D.
