GV II

Formerly vicarage, now local authority residential home. c1865. Ashlar limestone; ashlar chimneys; plain tile roof in 2 banded colours. Cotswold style. Two-storey with attic; cross wing at north end to form T-plan; single-storey service wing at south end. West side: parapet-gabled end of north cross wing to left; parapet gable at right hand end. Canted single-storey bay window with quatrefoil-pierced parapet to left gable; single-window mullioned and transomed fenestration with hoodmoulds; relieving arches over. Central part of elevation has corrugated lean-to which is not of special interest. Upper floor quatrefoil window; gabled roof dormer with triangular-headed lights to casements. Tall rectangular ridge-mounted chimneys with projecting modillion- enriched caps. North end: parapet-gabled end of main range to left; rectangular single-storey bay window with quatrefoil-pierced parapet. Large ground floor mullioned and transomed casement to right. East side: as west but central part has parapet half- gabled dormer. Pointed-arched porch opening at right hand end. Interior not inspected. The most imposing building on Selsley Hill and a good example of the High Victorian Cotswold style. Contemporary gatepiers and retaining wall to west (q.v.).
