Details

FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN THE GREEN SO 7407-7507 (east side) 10/121 Gatepiers and gates to Frampton Court II Two pairs of gatepiers with connecting wall and gates. Mid C18. Chamfered rusticated ashlar gatepiers on plinth with moulded cornice and stone ball finial and pair of wrought iron gates between, approximately 4.5m high. Symmetrical design with to each side a plain stone strip linking brick wall with plain stone coping and plinth, curving out as quadrants to smaller pier in same design but approximtely 3m high. Set within wall on each side is a door of 4 fielded and 2 lower beaded panels, with beaded stone architrave and dropped triple keystone. Total width across front approximately 20m. Beyond outer piers, wall sweeps down to join perimeter wall of Frampton Court (q.v.)
