Details
FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN THE STREET SO 7407-7507 (west side) 10/156 Beehive Cottage and Falfield Cottage GV II Formerly one house, enlarged into two cottages. Reputed to have been rebuilt 1560 after a storm. Main section in square panel timber-framing, partially exposed on rear only, rendered to front, with later section of Falfield Cottage in roughcast. Tile roof. Large stepped external brick stack to left hand return of Beehive Cottage and brick ridge stack to right, brick gable end stack to street on Falfield Cottage. L-shape, 2 storeys. Beehive Cottage has 2 twin 6-pane casements to first floor, similar 3 and 2-light to ground floor flanking central plank door with pedimented hood containing plaster relief of beehive, on consoles. Interior has large chamfered beam and open bressumer fireplace to external stack. Falfield Cottage has small C19 leaded casements, access on right hand return.
