Two cottages in row (formerly 3 cottages). Early C18 (one build).
Ashlar facade. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Two-storey,
6-windowed facade. All windows 2-light, hollow-chamfered stone-
mullioned casements with double chamfered surrounds. Moulded hoods
superimposed on a band over all but one of the ground floor
windows. Band at the same level as lintels of the first floor
windows. C20 plank door to No 75, set back within a roll-moulded
surround (probably early C20) left. C20 flat canopy supported on
moulded stone brackets above door. Window to right of the doorway
set within a blocked doorway. Leaded panes all but one window.
C20 plank doorway to No 73 with a roll-moulded surround with a
moulded hood. C19 four-panelled door, upper two panels glazed, to
the right within a similar surround but with a keystone. Flat
stone capping with moulded margin supported on moulded stone
brackets above the door. Moulded hood on band above the canopy.
The surrounds to all windows and doorways project slightly from the
facade. Moulded eaves cornice. Slate roofing designed to project
sufficiently to avoid the need for guttering. Gable-end and axial
stacks with cappings and skirtings.
Interior; two small C18(?) spice cupboards with their original
panelled doors to the right of the fireplace on the ground floor.
C18 shell-headed alcove with pierced decoration in the same room.
Early C18 moulded dressed stone fireplace in an upstairs room. The
detailing of the exteriors of these houses matches those of Park
Farmhouse (q.v.) and Manor Farmhouse (q.v.), suggesting that these
three buildings were built at about the same time.
