BARRINGTON LITTLE BARRINGTON VILLAGE SP 2012-2112 11/112 The Lower House (formerly listed as the Little House and now 23.1.52 incorporating two out of three barns formerly listed separately) GV II House and adjoining barn converted c1977 for domestic use. House late C17-early C18. C20 flat-roofed extensions not of special interest. Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Rectangular plan to main body with gabled 2-storey stairs projection off-centre right on the south side. Converted barn attached at rear right-hand corner. Extension at right angles rear left (also probably converted). Two storeys and attic lit by two 2-light C20 roof dormers with wooden casements. Fenestration otherwise 2 and 3-light stone-mullioned casements with leaded panes. C20 two-light stone-mullioned casements to ground floor of stairs projecton. C20 glazed door with glazing bars to left of stairs projection under a stone-tile roof set in the angle between the main body and the stairs projection. Sundial with a metal gnomon in the gable of the stairs projection. Gable-end stacks with skirtings and moulded cappings. Interior not inspected.
