BARRINGTON GREAT BARRINGTON VILLAGE SP 2013-2113 (north side) 10/58 Evergreen Farmhouse with front boundary railing 23.1.52 GV II Shown on map as Barrington Farm. Farmhouse. Late C17-early C18, mid-late C18. Early C18 range; coursed roughly squared limestone. Later C18 range; coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof, artificial stone slate to the early range. Rectangular mid-late C18 range facing the street, earlier range at right-angles rear left. Ashlar stacks. Mid-late C18 range, 2 storeys with cellar under. Symmetrical, 3-windowed facade lit by 2 and 3-light metal casements with glazing bars. Central C20 six-panelled door within a flat- chamfered surround. Flat stone canopy supported on moulded stone brackets over door. Earlier range at rear with 2 and 3-light casements, two casements within flat-chamfered stone surrounds, indicating they were formerly stone-mullioned casements. Early range incorporates four courses of pigeon holes at first floor level in the east facing wall. Stepped coping and stacks at gable ends of the mid-late C18 range. Axial stack to the late C17-early C18 range. All stacks with cappings and skirtings. C19 looped iron railing on a low dressed limestone across the front and continued around the left gable end. Interior not inspected. (Barrington Park Estate).
