Details
ICOMB ICOMB VILLAGE SP 22 SW 2/209 Village Hall GV II Village hall. Late C19. Coursed squared and dressed orange limestone with cream coloured limestone quoins. Coursed squared and dressed limestone stack to match. Slate roof. Rectangular plan. C20 lean-to extension at the north-west corner, not of special interest. Singe-storey. One 2-light and two 3-light stone-mullioned fixed casements with Tudor-arched heads and carved spandrels in the side facing the church. Similar 4-light casement with a stopped hood and a relieving arch in the gable end facing the churchyard entrance. Large C19 plank door within a flat- chamfered 'Tudor'-arched surround to the west wall towards the south gable end. Lateral stack with a moulded capping and skirting projects from the west wall. Segmental-headed fireplace visible from the exterior suggesting an extension was formerly intended on this side. Interior not inspected. Strong group value with the Church of St Mary (q.v.).
