Details
SIDDINGTON UPPER SIDDINGTON SU 09 NW 8/181 Upper Siddington House (formerly listed as The Potteries) 4.6.52 II Large detached house, at one stage divided into several separate dwellings. Probably late C17. Coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof, stone end stack to left and to rear wing. 'L'-shaped range, probably with through passage, 2 storeys and attic. Main front to east has 2 large gables each with 2-light stone mullion with square hoodmould. First floor has 5 windows, four 2-light stone mullion and transoms with moulded frames and central small single light, all with square hoodmould. Four mullion and transoms to ground floor and central stone doorway with moulded jambs and lintel, vertical battened door and square hoodmould. Similar fenestration throughout, all leaded, with some renewed on rear wing. Door in rear angle has moulded stone lintel. Semi-circular bread oven projects from west end of rear wing. Interior not accessible at time of survey (July 1985) but likely to be of interest.
