Details
The following building shall be added to the list:-
RODMARTON ST 99 NW 6/152 The Old Rectory II Rectory, now house. Dated 1632, remodelled and extended in 1872 by A W Maberley. Coursed limestone rubble with stone-coped stone slate roof to C17 section and plain tiles to C19 part; ashlar ridge and end stacks. C17 house of 4-unit plan. C17 south garden front of 2 storeys and attic and 5-window range. Parlour bay to left (west) has inscribed 1632 date and chamfered stone-mullioned 2-light window above 2-storey canted bay with embattled parapet and rebated hollow-moulded stone-mullioned 2-light windows with iron turnbuckles to casements. To right is stone-mullioned 2-light window set in large gabled dormer over 2 chamfered stone-mullioned 2-light first-floor windows and a tall 3-light stone-mullioned and transomed window of 1872. Further to right are 2 similar C17 mullioned windows above label moulds over tall 3-light mullioned and transomed windows of 1872. Two similar windows and a C17 drip mould to right gable end. North elevation of 1872 in matching style with similar windows with off-centre cross gable with large 4-light mullioned andtransomed stair window. Interior: left bay has C17 double ogee-moulded beam and stop- chamfered first-floor beam. Central bay has large roll-stopped beam to ground floor and C17 principal rafters with butt purlins. 1872 extension has panelled doors, stone fireplace and open-well staircase with barley- twist balusters. The bay of 1632 is identical to that at The Close Hotel, Tetbury (qv).
