COMPTON ABDALE COMPTON ABDALE VILLAGE SP Ol NE 5/25 The Lower Farm (Formerly listed as 'Lower Farmhouse') 23.1.52 GV II Former farmhouse now detached house. Late C18, early and late C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, left gable end of main body refaced in ashlar, stone slate roof, ashlar stacks. Late C18 range rectangular with early C19 extension to right gable end and late C19 extension rear left. Main body; 2 storeys and attic. Six- bay, 5-windowed facade. Single light, 2-light and 3-light stone- mullioned casements with leaded panes. Cotswold dormer off-centre right lit by 2-light stone-mullioned casement. Double C20 plank door off-centre left with leaded hall-light over. Flat stone canopy with moulded margin and bracket. Venetian window with leaded panes and plain architrave lighting ground floor of left gable end. Three-light stone-mullioned casement with plain architrave and stopped hood to first floor. Two-light stone- mullioned garret window. Late C19 extension lit by 3-light casements within segmental-headed surrounds. Access to same via stable type door with projecting segmental canopy supported on wrought iron decorative brackets. Interior not inspected.
