Details
KINGSCOTE A4135 ST 8196 (west side) 12/98 Hunters Hall Inn II
Inn. Core of C17, enlarged during C18 and C19. Random coursed rubble stone partly rendered to rear, concrete tile roof to front, slate to rear, stone slate to right hand return. C19 brick and stone scattered ridge stacks. Originally probably a T-shape range with hipped rear roof and lower stem range parallel to road, added to on all sides with wing to left front probably of late C18, remainder C19 or C20. Mainly 2 storeys. Front now has C20 imitation timber framed canted bay to centre,three 12-pane sashes in plain stone architraves to both floors on left, and 2 gablets with 9-pane sashes over two 12-pane sashes on right. One early vertical battened door on left hand return. Interior contains several large chamfered and stopped main beams, one fireplace with timber bressumer on projecting stone shoulders in former stem of T, and one formerly much larger timber bressumer fireplace with moulded stone cheeks in top of T, now halved in size but with access still to closed-off section.
