Details
TODENHAM MAIN STREET SP 23 NW (south side) 1/178 Church View and Old Reading Room (formerly listed as Church View) 25.8.60 GV II Semi-detached house and flat, in row. Two C18 phases of building, initials and date WFA/1713 on datestone towards right at first floor level. C19 extension and restoration. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete tile roof, ashlar stack, brick stack on ashlar stump and artificial stone stack. Rectangular plan extended left C18 and again C19. 2 storeys and attic lit by two 2-light C20 metal casements, 4-windowed, 6 bays, 3 stone mullioned cross windows, one stone mullioned casement. All mullioned windows with stopped hoods and leaded lights. Two tall 2-light C20 casements with glazing bars. One 12-pane sash far left over C20 double doors. Concrete lintel over doors, brick infill left of doors. Plank door right in plain flat-chamfered surround. Central 2- panelled door in right in flat chamfered surround with flat hood supported on moulded brackets. Flat gable end coping, gable end and axial stack. Interior not inspected.
