6/96 Hampen Manor GV II

Detached farmhouse. C17, C18, mid C19. C17 part coursed roughly squared limestone rubble, stone slate roof. Late C18 part (built in 2 phases), coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete tile roof. Mid C19 part coursed squared finely dressed stone. Stone stacks. 'L'-shaped plan with C17 wing on right and mid C19 extension rear left. C17 part; 1½ storeys, full dormer with 2- light stone-mullioned casement towards left over lean-to porch with fielded 6-panel door. Large 2-light casement with stanchions bars right of porch. Late C18, two storey, 4-windowed block left lit by 2 and 3-light stone-mullioned windows with metal casements. Former central doorway, now blocked, with 2-light metal casement inserted. Access now via panelled door into mid C19 part, hall light with coloured glass margin over door. C19, 2½ storey block at rear lit by 2 and 3-light stone-mullioned windows containing sashes with horns and hoods with scroll stops. Roof of mid C19 part; flat gable end coping, ornate finials, moulded kneelers, triple lateral stack with moulded capping. Gable end stacks to late C18 part. Interior not inspected.
