SO 82 NE LEIGH THE LEIGH
3/78 Daniel's Orchard GV II House. Probably C16, minor alterations C19, late C20. Timber- framing, brick-nogged and rendered infill, double-Roman tiles. 2½ bays, with single-bay C20 addition, 1½ storeys, one room deep. Gable to road, framing 3 panels high. Blocked doorway on left, 2- light casement: angle struts to tie beam; angled queen-struts to collar, 2-light casement, both windows small panes, weatherboard over. Plain bargeboards. Right return: angle struts to wall plate from main posts in old part, except in centre bay: half-bay on right, curtailed by C20 addition. Single-storey gabled porch on left, fully-glazed C20 door: to right framing to 3 panels replaced by brickwork to ground floor. Two 2-light casements; blocked doorway, cambered timber head: 2-light casement above. To right C20 section, eaves slightly higher, paired 2-light and a single-light casement. Above, 3 raking dormers, each 2-light casement. Chimney below ridge one bay from left. Forms group with Cyder Press Farmhouse (q.v.).
