GV II

Former barns and attached farm building now 3 properties. C17, adapted as 3 domestic properties in early C20. Timberframed, black weatherboarded lower part of wall and plastered above. Red interlocking tiles to barns and red pantiles to No 35A. A long range of 2 barns facing E with a lower pitch-roofed building (No 35A) running eastward from the N end of the E front. Northern barn of 3 bays with entrance by a glazed screen with 4- centred headed door. Clasped-purlin roof structure with one purlin to each slope, unjowled posts and strainers between the purlins. The present N aisle is an addition, as shown by the head mortices for wall timbers in the former rear wallplate. Southern barn (No 43) is a 4-bay structure, wider than the northern barn, with clasped-purlin roof, collar and queen- strut trusses and long curved braces from the unjowled posts to the tie beams. Corner-tie on wall plates at SW corner. Part floored. Early C20 porch.
