II
Barn. C17. Timber-framed on stone plinth; woven wattle to top panels, weatherboarding over frame below, a little brick nogging; corrugated-iron roof. Three-bay barn. To road: double boarded door in centre, rising to eaves, left door in 2 halves. Framing 3 panels high; a little missing left end, with 2 types weatherboarding below. To right 2-light casement window, small boarded door, boarded door to pitch-hole over. Rafter eaves. Weatherboarding to both gables. Interior: long brace main post to sill behind framing, not interrupting studs or rails. Sill on left of threshing floor, elbow-braces rise to main posts, straight braces above to tie beam: centre vertical post originally. On right only upper braces left of cross framing. Trusses tie-beam, collar and angle struts: 2 pairs purlins, square ridge. Door at rear lower than to road. Interior partly filled at inspection (1985). Further bay at right end originally a stable: burnt and replaced by brick lean-to mid C20; lean-to not of special interest.
