Small house: 1848 for the National Co-operative Land Company by F. O'Connor: altered C20. Stone plinth, slightly irregular Flemish bond brickwork, slate roof. Three-bay front, one room deep: parallel rear extension: single storey. Chamfered top to plinth. Centre bay projects slightly with gable over; late C20 half- glazed door up one stone step; no lintel: narrow late C20 window each side, rubbed brick arch. Plain string course and projecting verge course to gable; stone quatrefoil ventilator; plain verge rafters on shaped corbels. Two-light late C20 casements in each wing, rubbed brick arch. Slightly projecting eaves brickwork. Brick chimney on end gables and in centre at rear. Proportions of openings probably unaltered. Originally with 2-acre plot. Listed principally for historical and sociological interest; forms group with other Chartist cottages, (q.v.). (A.M. Hadfield, The Chartist Land Company, 1970)
