STAUNTON LEDBURY ROAD SO 7829-7929 (south side) 13/206 Dovecote at Staunton Court, (formerly listed as part of Court Farmhouse with barn 35 yards to south and dovecote)

Dovecote. C17. Coursed, squared stone to base, close-studded timber framing above, painted brick nogging; tiled roof. Square, wall externally in 3 stages. To yard: boarded door in centre: on right stone leanto projects, right return brick, with boarded door. Timber framing in 2 stages above door head level; long braces corner posts to sill lower stage; thin slats as rails in 3 panels. Second stage no braces, 2-light window full height in centre. Hipped roof, glover on short ridge with swept pyramid roof. Framing on right return includes braces to corner posts in top level. Internally, open to roof: walls lined brick, said to be 1000 nests, of brick with ledges. Two trusses, collar and tie beam, 3 vertical struts, principals joined at top by yoke: one pair purlins. Forms group with church, house and other farm buildings (q.v.).
