10/220 Stanbrook Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Second quarter C19, C18 rear wing. Flemish bond brickwork with stone plinth front, brick rear, slate roof. Three- bay, 2 storey front, 2 bay rear wing, 2 1/2 storeys, both one room deep. Front: central 6-panel door up 2 stone steps, top 2 glazed, rest fielded, semi-circular fanlight, covered rendered porch, open end, recessed panel sides, base to corners, plain cornice, flat roof. Either side a 16-pane sash, flat, rubbed brick arch with dummy joints in alternate bricks. First floor, end windows as below, centre similar but ordinary sash. Flat soffit to eaves; hipped roof, end chimneys. Right return: front end plain; rear wing set back, leanto along front of rear wing, boarded door on left, in recess, up one stone step. Two 2-light casement windows, boarded door at right end. Corrugated-iron leanto not of special interest. First floor 2-light casement left, cambered brick arch: similar on right with leaded lights. Two-light casement to second floor: dentil eaves, hipped end, with chimney on end. Rear wing same height as front.
