House. Probably C14, remodelled and front rebuilt in early C17; some early C18 alteration. Cruck-framed; C17 squared and coursed limestone to front, and coursed limestone rubble to rear; gabled stone slate roof; C17 off-centre stone ridge stack, early C18 stone stack to right-hand corner and stone left end stack finished in late C19 brick to left. Open-hall house, remodelled as early C17 2-storey house with rear right wing. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Early C18 bracketed stone hood over central early C17 doorway with sunk spandrels to moulded Tudor-arched architrave. Late C19 projecting bay window to left with leaded-lights to 4-light wood-mullioned window. Label moulds over early C17 chamfered stone-mullioned windows, of 4-lights to ground floor on right and of 3 lights to first floor flanking 3-light oriel window. Large late C19 gabled dormer windows. Rear wing of one storey and attic has stone gable end stack and gabled half dormer. Interior: C14 full cruck, resting on pad- stone to rear but truncated by early C17 wall to front; rear blade of cruck is not continuous, being jointed about ¾ towards the apex, which is halved and has been rebuilt; trenched purlins and lap-jointed collar. Ground floor room to right has chamfered stone jambs and wood bressummer to open fireplace, which has arched recess (salt cupboard) with beaded surround; room also has C17 stop- chamfered ceiling joists, blocked 4-light wood-mullioned window to right and early C18 shell alcove; first-floor room to right has early C18 corner fireplace with pulvinated frieze. C17 rear wing has chamfered ground-floor beam.

2. Cl7, rubble with Cotswold stone roof. Two off-ridge ashlar chimneys, centre one with cornice, left hand one brick. Further corniced ashlar chimney to front right hand corner. Two storeys and dormers. Three bays, 3- and 4-light stone mullion windows with labels and a small stone oriel over entrance. Small Tudor arch opening to alley with hood on carved consoles. The alley is timber-framed.
