Court Farmhouse (formerly listed as Court Farmhouse and Barn)

Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17, C20 alterations and restoration. Sand-
stone rubble with internal timber-framed partitions, stone slate roof. L-
plan with main house aligned south-west/north-east and wing extending to
north-west at south-east end (now derelict), entrance in north-east gable
end with main stack and winder staircase (formerly of stone internally, now
rebuilt with timber). Single storey with attic and basement; south-east front:
central glazed dormer window with C20 glazing bar casement window, two similar
C20 windows to ground floor; north-east gable end retains 3-light wooden
mullioned window lighting stair, square-headed wooden chamfered framed doorway
with nail-studded door, to the north-west side of the main house is a similar
wooden framed doorway with battened door, formerly an internal door leading
to north-west wing. The north-west gable end of the derelict wing retains
traces of stone winder staircase and fireplace with chamfered jambs and lintel.
Interior: main house has fine chamfered ceiling beams, internal partition with
chamfered door frame and battened door.
