1/4 Craswall Priory (formerly listed as Craswall Priory 29.9.52 Ruins)
- II
Ruins of Priory of Order of Grandmont founded 1220 - 5. Sandstone rubble with a few visible dressed stones. Plan barely distinguishable but consisted of small apsidal ended church with sacristry separated from chapter house by a small passage. The RCHM plan also shows the position of the claustral ranges. A few "water holding" bases are still visible at the entrance to the chapter house. Many of the features noted by Pevsner are now indistinguishable. Ancient Monument No 24. (RCHM Vol I, p 42/3; BoE p 107).
