ALDBURY STOCKS ROAD SP 9612 (East side) 12/9 No. 12 30.11.66 (Tim's Spring Cottage),and No 10 (Formerly listed as No 12) GV II 2 Houses. No. 12 probably C16 altered in C17 and C19: No. 10 C19. Timber frame with painted brick infill, painted brick with thin framing to C19 room over carriageway on RH and painted brick contemporary narrow house on S side (No. 10). Steep pitched roof to No. 12 now slated. Low pitched slate roof to extension and No. 10 hipped to S. A 2-storeys group facing W on streetfront. The larger N part is a house of 4 unequal bays of heavy framing with long 2nd bay from N probably an original open hall. Wide-spaced studs with mid-height rail tenoned in-line. Small window in narrow N bay. Half glazed door into LH end of hall bay with canted C19 bay window with small panes beside it and a box-dormer at eaves level over. Small-paned 2-light casements on each floor in RH bays. Similar window in room over carriageway. No. 10 has one window on each floor and plank door to left. Small-paned recessed sliding casements with cambered arches. Formerly the village stores. (Davis (1980) No.12). No. 10 included for group value.
