Details
TL 31NE THUNDRIDGE POLES LANE (north side) Thundridge 2/3 Sprangewell East, Sprangewell Centre, and Sprangewell West II
House, now 3 houses. Early C19 incorporating C17 building (in Sprangewell Centre), and an older building with timberframed upper floor at NW (Srangewell West). A 2-storeys white-painted brick building facing S, with pedimented stucco centre, slate roof with hip at W but gable parapet at E, and 2-storeys hipped block set back at NW. Grey brick chimneys. 4-windows front with stucco centre Dart framed by pilasters, topped by a large triangular pediment and containing the middle 2-windows. Recessed sash windows with 6/6 panes and sunblind cases on upper floor. 2 panel door in central part on right, with fanliqht and flat hood on scrolled brackets. Triple sash window on its left. Each side of centre a similar upper sash window. Below, on left, a canted bay window with hipped roof, and on right a triple French door screen. 2-windows wide block set back at NW with door in the angle. Interior has chamfered beam and c1830 black and white marble entrance hall floor in Sprangewell Centre. (RCHM Typescript)
