4/48 Snettisham House.

G.V. II

House. C18, refacings and additions 1863, 1883, perhaps partly incorporating house of Cobbe family, here from mid C16 to C19. North and west, garden, fronts scored stucco render, gault brick and red brick returns, slated and plain tiled roofs. North front, 2 storeys, 3 bay centre, 2 single bay gabled cross wings. Gothic. Centre has 2 ground floor sashes with glazing bars, central gabled porch with Gothic arch. Cross wings with one ground and one first floor 3-light casements. Kneelers and coped parapets, 2 ridge stacks to centre. East return of east cross wing: C19 gault brick with south gable return of carstone, brick and squared stone quoins partly rendered, suggesting evidence of earlier house. West return of west cross wing to garden, 2 storeys with attics, has 2 ground and 2 first floor tripartite sashes with glazing bars. Central door. 2 attic gabled dormers to south, 3 bay 2 storey with attics wings, stuccoed on west, C18 red brick south gable and east return. R.W. Hading A Tour of Snettisham (1981) pp. 72-73.
