II

House. Main range c.1740 with early C19 additions. Galleted carstone and brick dressings, later wings of brick. Slate roof. Central block flanked by cross ranges. 2 storeys and dormer attic. First floor of west front obscured by curving enclosed gallery of c.1800. Pedimented central bays broken forward with sash window and 2 side sashes to first floor. 2 further sashes flank to left and right. Moulded brick string course below parapet. Gabled roof with 4 flat-topped dormers. Central ridge stack and one external stack left and right now enclosed by side wings. East front of 6 bays. Plain door right of centre. Sashes with glazing bars within brick surrounds. Moulded string course and sashes as west front and 4 flat-topped dormers. Early C19 hipped 2 storey addition to north and south. South front with 3 bay sash window and triple sash to first floor, the sash cases elaborated into pilasters with fluted frieze in a curved elevation. Closed string stair- case in interior with ramped handrail on turned balusters within wall with fielded panels.
