Stately farmhouse. C17 with an important late C18 side addition. Brick with black pantile and slate roofs. Double pile plan with irregular service adjuncts to east and a late C18 side addition to west recently shortened by fire. 2 storeys with attic. Facade of C17 brickwork in English bond, heightened with later brickwork. Central C17 2-storey porch with semi- circular headed entrance. Later stucco platband, pediment and cornice. C18 mullion and transom upper floor window with leaded glazing and metal casements. C17 door frame with double ovolo mouldings and wide ogee stops. 2 C18 2-light mullion and transom windows, one later 3-light mullion and transom window and one modern 2-light casement to ground floor. Sash windows with glazing bars to upper floor. Plain dentil cornice and 3 flat-roofed dormers with 2-light casements. 2-bay late C18 extension of large sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches Moulded cornice, parapet and plain giant pilaster at division. One massive off-centre axial stack and other stacks to rear. Eastern additions not of special interest.
