4/22 Old Rectory (formerly 4.12.51 listed as Rectory)

Former rectory. C17 and later. Timber frame replaced with brick to front and rendered to rear. Original brick returned gable-end now mainly obscured by side addition. Pantile roofs.2 storeys with attic.6 bays of C19 chamfered mullion casements beneath shallow pointed arches. Raised and fielded panelled front door with modern brick porch. Original strips of C17 brickwork to front and rear with header diaper patterns. 2 3-light and one 2-light C18 dormers with segmental roofs, leaded glazing and metal casements. One gable-end stack (originally) and one off-centre axial stack. Later additions to sides and rear. Ogee and nicked chamfer stops to one spinal bridging joist. Wind- ing stair, probably original, beside-axial stack. 2 fine C17 fireplaces with 4-centred arches of stuccoed brick.
