Details
HARDINGHAM TG 00 SW 10/35 Hardingham Hall 4.12.51 GV II House. Early to mid C18 with important refurbishments in the early and late C19. Brick with some stone dressings and pantile roofs. Large single pile original block with projecting full height side additions to south east and rear. 2 storeys with attics and cellar. South west facade of original block re-arranged in the early C19. Tuck-pointed brickwork with 7 bays of sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. Late C19 central 2-storey pedimented advancement taking the place of the former main entrance. Giant stone pilasters with carved Corinthianesque capitals at principal angles, probably of-early C19 date and either re-used or imitated on the central advancement. Stone platband and a deep cove-moulded cornice. Steeply pitched hipped roof with 3 dormers which have sashes and segmental roofs. Late C19 projecting side addition imitates the giant pilasters, platband and cornice. Entrance facade to north west retains some C18 features including a moulded brick platband and 4 blocked windows with raised key- stones and moulded brick sills. Late C19 or early C20 2-storey pedimented porch with 2 pairs of giant pilasters. 2-leaf part-glazed door with a flat hood in stone on carved brackets. Edwards family arms on tympanum. Interior features include extensive plasterwork, a late C19 staircase with twisted balusters and carved tread ends and some elaborately carved C17 panelling believed to have come from Hardingham Old Hall.
