War memorial. 1926 by Bateman of Birmingham. Limestone. Square plan, with
diagonal volutes at corners terminating with lions' heads below cornice. On
each side the cornice rises to form an open segmental pediment containing a
shell motif, above a panel with moulded borders. Upper part treated as obelisk,
with cross carved on each side. (BoE, p 300).
