ASHBY ST.LEDGERS KILSBY ROAD SP56NE (West side) 5/2 High Park Lodge
- II
Pair of lodges, now one dwelling. C18, remodelled early C20 and joined by a pedimented centrepiece to form one dwelling. Coursed ironstone rubble and ironstone ashlar, slate roof, stone and rendered stacks. One storey. 5 bays. Central pediment supported by square columns to outer bays and 2 Tuscan columns to inner bays. Doorway with moulded wood surround and C20 door. Canted bays on either side have windows with arched stone surrounds with keyblocks and balustraded parapets with small pediments. Projecting outer bays with pediments, rusticated quoins and arched windows with keyblocks. Pair of linked stacks on either side in form of keystoned arch. Interior not inspected. The lodges formerly flanked the drive to Ashby Lodge, demolished c.1920. (Buildings of England: Northamptonshire, p.93).
