Details

LEE CRESCENT 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 Nos 47, 48 and 49 SP 0685 NW 41/9 II GV 2. Circa 1830-35 two storey stucco faced huses, part of a Regency-style crescent comprising Nos 41 to 49(consec). Two bay fronts, No 49 stepped lower down hill and with a 3 bay return entrance front of painted brick to east mews lane. Grooved coursing to stucco. Plinth; first floor sill band; shallow eaves band. Slate roofs, hipped over No 49; stucco chimney stacks. Nos 47 and 48 are paired with coupled entrances to centre. Revealed glazing bar sash window in segmental arched panels on both floors, larger single sashes centred to ground floors of Nos 47 and 48. Coupled arched entrance recesses each containing inner fluted arch on flattened fluted Tuscan columns, door of 5 fielded and flush panels in panelled reveals and soffit, ogee looped radial pattern to fanlights. No 49 on return front has virtually identical doorway but simple radial glazing to fanlight. Arched tunnel passage entrances with blind fanlights to either end of Nos 47-48.
