5/239 West Street 26.4.68. Honeywood Farmhouse GV II

Farmhouse C15 with C17 and C19 alterations. Timber-framed with rendered ground floor, tile-hung first floor and plain tile roof. Right gable end has broadly-spaced studding with brick infilling. 2-bay open hall with storeyed end bay to right and formerly also to left. 2 storeys on plinth, jettied to right end, with steeply- pitched hipped roof. Brick stack in front slope of roof off-centre to left. Irregular fenestration of three 2-light casements. C20 glazed door in C20 brick lean-to-porch beneath stack. Interior: moulded crown-post on moulded cambered tie-beam with braces and fillet. Heavily jowled posts. Moulded end-of-hall beam to left end with evidence for door towards front. First-floor room to right used as granary in early C20. Exposed timbers.
