SUTTON VALENCE TUMBLERS HILL TQ 8049-8149 (north side) 7/161 Aylmer House and house adjoining 26.4.68 to left GV II

House, now part of school. Early C16 or earlier. Timber framed, rendered, with plain tile roof. Wealden with single hall bay, storeyed bay to each end and narrow bay, possibly added, to right end. 2 storeys and cellar. Right and left end bays jettied on slender solid brackets. Higher jetty to narrow right end bay. Small solid brackets to flying wall-plate. Corbelled brick ridge stack towards each end. Irregular fenestration of 4 casements; one 4-light to each principal jettied bay, one 3-light oriel window on single bracket to central bay and one 3-light to right end bay. Boarded door towards right end of left bay, up 4 steps. Ribbed door to Aylmer House to narrow right end bay.
