- II
Farmhouse. C16, altered C17. Red sandstone random rubble masonry, thatched roof hipped to left, C20 brick stack right with projection on gabled end (blocked internally), rendered stack right of cross passage and at rear of left-hand bay. Open hall derivative, now 3-cell and cross passage. 2-storeys, 4-bays; C19 3-light leaded casements, C20 casement to left of entrance, entrance approached by flight of 5 steps, vertical buttress right, raking buttress end right. Interior: flag stone cross passage, chamfered beams with stops to right, doorway left, originally 4-centred arch with double roll moulding, now square headed but apex of arch still visible, similar evidence of double roll moulding on lintel of fireplace set against cross passage, lintel subsequently heightened. 16 panel hollow chamfered compartment ceiling, stair set against rear wall, probably added when open hall ceiled. Muntin and plaster partition right; jointed cruck roof. Relatively unaltered and good example of a traditional farmhouse.
