5/56 Pyrland Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. C17, enlarged and refronted c1800, mid C20 addition on facade. Rosy pink brick, Flemish bond, asbestos and Welsh slate roof hipped to left, coped verges right, concrete tile at rear in North East corner, brick stacks right gable end, between first and second bays right and between fourth and fifth bays. T-plan, probably originally 3 cell and cross passage entered from North front, agricltural building added West end and building refronted with South facade all under same roof; short parallel range in angle with North wing containing agricultural buildings. Two storeys with attic, lisil bays, facade assumed to be symmetrical though partly obscured by ivy at time of survey (April 1984), 2 central hipped dormers set in roof space, end bay left blind window opening, all with slightly cambered heads, 16-pane sash windows, ground floor left bay single C20 hipped roof addition with brick stark, central semi circular headed door case, fanlight without glazing bars, plank door, wooden trellis-work hooded porch. Break forward in facade to left of entrance. Left return, depressed arch openings to agricultural end, rear gable end 25 and 55-pane sash windows. Interior not viewed.
